Our story

Haven Express began in 2018 on the corner of 24th & Ohio with nothing more than a grill, a dream, and a menu of burgers, brats, and hot links. What started as a simple setup quickly grew into a neighborhood favorite, built on flavor, hustle, and genuine connection with the community.
By 2020, Haven Express expanded into catering and concessions at the Hope Center for Kids (formerly the Schenzel Center), serving wings, loaded fries, brats, and red hots to families, staff, and youth programs. The demand kept growing — and so did the vision.
In 2021, every dollar saved went toward buying the first official food truck. The journey wasn’t easy. After driving all the way to Kansas City to purchase the truck, nothing inside worked, and the title was incorrect. That meant another long drive back just to get the paperwork fixed. What followed was a full year of rebuilding the truck from the ground up — wiring, equipment, plumbing, everything.
But that rebuild became the foundation of Haven Express today: a business built with patience, grit, and pride.
Now, after years of serving the community and perfecting the craft, Haven Express is growing again — with a second truck on the way and a mission to bring bold comfort food, fast service, and authentic hospitality to even more neighborhoods, events, and families.
